On a bright and crisp autumn afternoon, The Peninsula Suite at The Sandbanks Hotel in Poole, a mere golf drive away from the family home in Lilliput, was the setting for the Celebration of the Life Of Dave Lanning, an event hosted by his children Alyson, Russell and Phillip. A truly legendary and highly respected figure in the realms of journalism and television, Dave's love of speedway and darts saw the ' Big Man' become the instantly recognisable voice of these sports with his full throttle delivery hitting the target every time. Family, friends, colleagues and sporting personalities joined together to enjoy the warm and humorous tributes bestowed on a man whose life was never dull, ever loquacious and always deeply supportive of the family unit. This collectors DVD also includes plenty of cinefilm action from Exeter, Swindon, Poole and Plymouth with narration by Speedway Historian Tony Lethbridge.
